Structural dynamics of eukaryotic H/ACA complexes
H/ACA ribonucleoprotein complexes mediate the sequence-specific pseudouridylation of ribosomal and spliceosomal RNAs, thus playing a pivotal role in ribosome and spliceosome biogenesis. Despite the basic mechanisms being characterized using archaeal model complexes, the role of several features of eukaryotic H/ACA ribonucleoprotein complexes remain elusive. In particular, the structural and functional roles of both the unique bipartite architecture and the presence of eukaryote-specific protein domains are poorly characterized. Here, we will analyze structural dynamics of the assembly and catalysis within eukaryotic H/ACA RNPs to resolve the mechanisms underlying H/ACA-mediated pseudouridylation in eukaryotes. More
